The Crown Hotel is an AA four star rated hotel situated in the picturesque village of Wetheral. Recently refurbished, it is the perfect venue for a Cumbrian holiday, a romantic wedding, business meetings or inspired dining.
Riverside Fitness Leisure Club – offers an indoor heated 12 metre pool, a well-furnished gym and an array of exercise classes. It also provides a variety of relaxation facilities including, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi.
The Hotel and Leisure facilities have 24 hour a day and all year electric and heat demand. With energy being a significant part of their overall costs, the Crown Hotel decided to work with OS Gen to install a Combined Heat & Power(CHP) solution providing cheaper power and heat, whilst reducing their energy carbon footprint.
Crown management partnered with OS Gen to install an on-site generation solution consisting of a 50kW Combined Heat & Power (CHP) supplying energy to both the Hotel and Leisure complex.
A bespoke low noise enclosure was designed and installed to mitigate noise and emissions.
OS Gen covered the capital cost of the CHP, the Installation, and the ongoing cost of Service and Maintenance over the lifetime of the partnership.
The energy generated by the CHP systems is charged back to the Crown Hotel at a discounted rate set against the prevailing rates charged by the current utility providers through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
