The Regency Park Hotel offers a peaceful and tranquil setting in the Royal County of Berkshire. The hotel has 108 bedrooms, an exclusive onsite leisure facility including a fitness suite, spa pool, steam room, sauna, and a 17 metre indoor swimming pool.
The Hotel also offers extensive conference and banqueting facilities; comprising of 9 flexible rooms, and a Business centre.
The Health Club requires 24-hour a day heat and electricity all year round. The Hotel has a similar energy demand profile for the majority of the year.
With energy being a significant cost, the Regency Park Hotel identified the opportunity to reduce their energy costs and their carbon footprint without tying up precious capital.
The Regency Park Hotel partnered with OS Gen to install an on-site generation solution consisting of a 100kW Combined Heat & Power (CHP) supplying both the Hotel and Health Club. The site has been operational since January 2022
OS Gen covered the capital cost of the CHP, Installation, and the ongoing cost of Service and Maintenance over the lifetime of the partnership.
The energy generated by the CHP system is then charged back to the Regency Park Hotel at a discounted rate set against the prevailing rates charged by the current utility providers in the form of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
